Winners of the 2016 Cincy Blues Challenge, the band is a musical powerhouse, showcasing the talents of guitarist and vocalist, Jay Jesse Johnson, Bassist/ Reed Bogart, Drummer/Jeff Donaldson and keyboardist, Lee Evans.
Hailed as “One of the most electrifying guitarists you will ever hear,” by LA’s The Place magazine, Jay Jesse Johnson started playing guitar at the age of 10 and has been setting the blues on fire ever since. Influenced by the masters of rock & roll and blues, he has recorded in studios from New York to Nashville and played in venues throughout North America and Europe.
In 2015, The Jay Jesse Johnson Band was featured with Robert Cray, Canned Heat and Joe Bonamassa in UK’s, The Blues magazine, “The Next Generation Of Blues Superstars” as well as the “Cream Of Contemporary Blues” in 2013. Johnson has also been featured in Classic Rock magazine, Blues Matters magazine, as well as other blues and rock publications.
